The GMO debate needs more people like Pollan and Ronald.

These days Google+ gets overwhelmed with dodgy blogs lacking any kind of credible backing that are using fear to influence the GMO debate. Between all this noise it is great (thank you +The New Yorker) that some people, even if they are from opposite sides, talk to each other on a more mature level.

Mounting and reading an Encrypted Sparsebundle image (OSX) keeps on making small file changes and thus triggers Google Drive syncing.

Mounting and reading an Encrypted Sparsebundle image (OSX) keeps on making small file changes and thus triggers Google Drive syncing.

If anyone has an idea why this is happening and if I can stop it let me know. If possible I'd keep it on r+w mounting as it contains some text files that I now and then have to change.

OSX Encrypted Sparsebundle Image keeps making small file changes
I’ve created an encrypted sparsebundle image to store some files that I want to keep safe in my Google Drive. However, I noticed, that even when just mounting this image and reading files (simple text files) the Google Drive application is constantly uploading “changes”. Why is this? I just perform a reading on files? More importantly, is there a way of stopping this? There is no point to have to re-upload constantly blocks that in essence didn’t…
